Mark Dean

Mark Dean was born on March 2, 1956 in Jefferson City, Tennessee. Mark Dean received a undergrad degree from the University of Tennessee, his master's degree in electrical engineering from Flordia Atlantic University, and his Ph.D in electrical engineering from Stanford University. After college, Dean helped the new Industry Standard Architecture (ISA). ISA is a system that allowed peripheral devices like disk drives, printers and montiors to be plugged directly into computers. Later on, Dean and his team at IBM's Austin, Texas created the first gigahertz chip. A gigahertz chip is able to do a billion calculations a second. Mark Dean is impacted computer science field tremendously with his innovations.
